Honor from the Mission Fragrance set has had me excited from the moment I heard it described as a combination of Creed Aventus and Versace Pour Homme. After wearing it, I would say that this is a fairly accurate description, although, it’s more like 80% Versace Pour Homme and 20% Creed Aventus. Which is still great, but I feel like more of a 50/50 balance would have been amazing. Instead, to my nose, this smells mostly like Versace Pour Homme. Which is still great, it’s just a scent that I’m used to. I will say that its longevity and projection are better than Pour Homme, though.
It opens up with zesty citrus notes of bergamot, lemon, petitgrain, and neroli flower. An added freshness comes from the ozonic note, while the pepper and schinus molle (pink pepper) add a spiciness along with an aromatic cypress note.
In the middle, is an earthy, spicy nutmeg along with Jasmine, geranium, and orange blossom floral notes, as well as an herbal hint from the sage.
At the base, patchouli and sandalwood add a woody touch as well as a balsamic, woody ,spicy, note from the olibanum (frankincense). A bitter, damp forest floor-like scent from the moss sits atop a masculine base of leather, musk, and amber.
This is a quintessential summertime fragrance that will, no doubt, perform in the heat. It’s only 61 degrees here today, but I’ve been inside most of the day, so it’s worked out fine. Again, this is very similar to Versace’s Pour Homme with a hint of Creed Aventus. It’s really a beautiful scent!
Performance really surprised me. So far, the first two Mission Fragrance scents that I’ve tried have under promised and over delivered, performance-wise. Even though this is a lighter, summer fragrance, I still got 6-8 hours of longevity out of it, with the skin scent lasting past the 8 hour mark.
Projection is good at around 2 feet for the first 1-2 hours, then falling to around a foot for another couple hours before becoming a skin scent. Sillage seems mild, but not bad. You’ll leave a decent scent trail for the first couple hours. Overall, I’m very pleased with the quality and performance of the MF set so far.
