Fresh, masculine and always gets me compliments actually. Perfect for a Sunday afternoon w/family. I can now walk through that door courageously knowing I’m the best smelling guy in the room. I’m currently on my second full MF set and they were definitely an integral part of a new found hobby quickly pivoting into my craze/addiction with men’s fragrance. Enjoy the day brothers. Smell great out there.

Time to take one small courageous action to honour my commitment to being my best self once again. Therefore Courage from the Mission Fragrances set has to be today’s SOTD. A light fragrance with its floral heart notes adding depth to give it a bit more of a kick than Honor, but not as much as Commitment. A nice citrus start and a wonderful musky sandalwood finish, with a little floral lavenderness along the way. It has very good longevity and a projection of a few feet.

According to Antonio’s write up “Courage falls into the ‘citrus aromatic’ fragrance category, with a mix of citrus, floral, and green notes”….”The bold mix of light top notes and deeper base notes give this fragrance the power to be noticed without seeming too intense”, and Courage definitely boasts a bold blend of light top notes and deeper base notes so it is noticeable but not overwhelming.

As it is finally above freezing, I decided that this weekend was my chance to finally give Courage by Mission Fragrances a go. I have been wanting to wear this since I got my box set, but the weather was just too cold. So, being that this weekend we are going to be in the 50s- 60s, it was time. I started wearing this yesterday and will be wearing it today as well as tomorrow.

On the first spay, my nose is brought into a white floral and citrus bouquet on the opening. Think of the Aqua di Gio, a popular men’s fragrance known for its fresh and aquatic notes, opening if you take out the salty blue accords. The opening sticks around for around five minutes before giving way to a greener, more mature fragrance that keeps the citrus opening, unlike ADG. After about a half hour, you will be well into the dry down, adding sandalwood and musk to the other notes.

One of the standout features of Courage is its impressive projection and longevity for a citrus-based fragrance. For the first 30 minutes, it projects a pleasant scent that extends about 3 feet from my skin, gradually reducing to 2 feet during the dry down. The fragrance maintains its projection for about 5 hours before settling into a comforting skin scent for the final hour. This reliable performance makes it a confident choice for daily wear.

Courage is more than just a fragrance-it’s an experience. Its enjoyable, easy-to-wear nature makes it a perfect choice for any season. The citrus and floral opening, reminiscent of Chez Bond from Bond No. 9, gives way to a woody and musky profile that’s simply delightful. The fact that it’s my wife’s favorite from the set only adds to its charm, making it a must-have for daily wear.

In honor of today’s Mission Fragrances release, I chose Courage as my SOTD! A potent fragrance, reminiscent of Creed’s Green Irish Tweed with a bit of a twist, with soft to moderate projection for me. But most importantly, it’s my friendly reminder of mustering up my motivation and determination for challenges in my day ahead!!

Courage is the inner strength that propels me to confront fear, adversity, or uncertainty with bravery. It’s not the absence of fear, but the ability to act in spite of it, pushing boundaries and embracing challenges with resilience. Courage manifests in many forms, from standing up for one’s beliefs in the face of opposition to facing personal struggles with unwavering resolve. It’s the firefighter charging into a burning building, the activist speaking out against injustice, and the student challenging the status quo to pursue their dreams.

Courage can often inspire others too, igniting a chain reaction of bravery and fortitude. It fosters solidarity and empowers communities to confront shared challenges. Whether it’s a historical figure leading a revolution or an everyday hero lending a helping hand, acts of courage ripple through society, shaping the course of history and fostering positive change. In essence, courage is not just an individual trait but a catalyst for transformation, driving humanity forward in the face of adversity!

This is my first time trying Courage from the Mission Fragrance set and I can immediately see the similarity to Creed’s Green Irish Tweed. I think there is a little bit more going on in Courage though. While I’m not the biggest fan of GIT, Courage is more complex and I think it smells better. I actually quite like this!

At the top is an effervescent citrus burst from the lemon, grapefruit, Mandarin citrus, and petitgrain. There is also a strong bitter green note from the galbanum.

In the middle comes some more citrus from the lemongrass and neroli. There are some other fruity notes as well from the plum and pineapple (although hardly detectable). But the main players in the heart are the florals! A rose-like geranium, a powdery iris, a clean aromatic lavender, along with soft and sweet violet and orange blossom. Now, do I pick up on all of these florals? Absolutely not. But I can distinguish the powdery aspects of the iris and the crisp clean note of lavender.

At the base, is a simple yet effective, masculine trio of creamy sandalwood, giving the fragrance a welcomed touch of a much appreciated woody note. There is also a mossy note that recalls the scent of a lush forest after a light rain. And finally, a soft, clean musk anchors the scent with a slight animalic note and ties everything together very nicely.

Overall, this is a great 3 season fragrance that would work well in spring, summer, or fall. Its citrus opening blends well with the floral heavy heart notes. Despite the heavy florals in the mid, this fragrance never strays from being masculine, which is a credit to the perfumer. I do wish the pineapple and plum were a bit more detectable, though. Especially the pineapple, as it’s a note I love when done right. Nevertheless, this is an excellent fragrance that adds a 3rd distinct scent profile to the other 2 MF scents, creating a diverse trifecta that has you covered for any season and any occasion!

Performance, again, is better than advertised. I get about 7-8 hours of longevity, with a skin scent going beyond the 8 hour mark. Projection is probably a solid 3 feet for the first couple hours, falling to about a foot for another couple hours, before becoming a skin scent maybe a little more than halfway through the wear. Sillage is good. It doesn’t fill a room, but you’ll leave a nice little trail for the first couple hours wherever you roam.
